Why it happens
The TV guide is sent with times in one standard clock. Your player app converts it to your local time, but only if it knows where you are. If the app or the device is set to the wrong zone, every show shifts by the same number of hours.
Which US time zone are you in?
| Zone | Example cities | Difference from Eastern |
|---|---|---|
| Eastern | New York, Atlanta, Miami | 0 |
| Central | Chicago, Dallas, Houston | 1 hour earlier |
| Mountain | Denver, Salt Lake City, Phoenix | 2 hours earlier |
| Pacific | Los Angeles, Seattle, Las Vegas | 3 hours earlier |
Arizona (except the Navajo Nation) does not change clocks in summer, so it matches Pacific in summer and Mountain in winter.
Fix it in your app
- First, check the device clock. Settings, Date and time, turn on automatic time zone.
- TiviMate: Settings, TV guide, TV guide time shift. Leave it at 0 if the device time zone is right. Only use a shift if times are still off.
- IBO Player: Settings, Time format and time zone, pick your zone.
- UHF: uses the iPhone or Apple TV time zone. Fix it in the device settings.
- Update the TV guide once more.
Still off by exactly 1 hour?
That is usually daylight saving time. Turn the device's automatic time zone off and on again, then update the guide.
