Why big games stutter
At kickoff, everyone in your neighborhood streams at once. Your internet provider's network is busiest, your Wi-Fi is shared with phones and laptops, and the player app has less room to recover. Most stutter comes from the home side, and most of it is fixable.
5 fixes, in order
- Plug in a cable. A network cable between the box and the router beats any Wi-Fi.
- Use 5 GHz Wi-Fi if you cannot use a cable, and keep the router in the open, not in a cabinet.
- Pause big downloads at game time: game consoles, cloud backups, phone updates.
- Raise the buffer in your player. In TiviMate: Settings, Playback, Buffer size, set it to Large.
- Restart the box an hour before the game.
Pick the right stream
Many live events have several versions of the same channel. If one stutters, try the next one before giving up. A slightly lower quality version often plays perfectly on a busy night.

Questions people ask
Why does LemonRealm buffer only during games?
Game time is peak time for home internet. A cable connection and a larger player buffer fix most of it.
Does a VPN help with buffering?
Only if your internet provider slows down streaming. Ask us on WhatsApp before buying one.
